HZ Exclusive: Want To Teach Human Values To Kids Born In Brothels, Says Miss Grand India 2019 Shivani Jadhav

Chhattisgarh girl Shivani Jadhav has bagged the Femina Miss Grand India 2019 crown in the 56th edition of the pageantry. An engineering student from Pune’s MIT College, Shivani wants to continue working with children born in brothels. Talking to this correspondent after winning the title, Shivani says, “I work for kids born at brothel areas. I want to teach them basic human values and become a part of their happiness. This cause is the closest to me.”

Talking about her future plans, Shivani says, "I want to win the Miss Grand International crown for our country for which I’m going to work hard." Meenakshi Chaudhary of Haryana crowned Shivani Jadhav of Chhattisgarh as Miss Grand India 2019.

Shivani Jadhav will represent India at Miss Grand International 2019 pageant which will be held in Venezuela on October 25, 2019.

The young diva who describes herself as "someone who walks with incredible faith," Shivani says that if not the Miss India contest, then she was planning to pursue masters in Melbourne after her graduation. "I wanted to have that experience of being in a different country and trying to make a life of my own. So if not Miss India, I would have had a different life altogether," she elaborates.

Shivani, who finds inspiration in her father, believes that the boundaries of pageantry have far increased since it was initiated. She elucidates, "Pageantry is one incredible field. I’ve met 29 other contestants in Miss India, I’ve known their stories and I’ve known where they’ve come from! There was so much more that they wanted to achieve and voice out through the platform and I’ve known everything that they tried to represent. There’s nothing more beautiful than to experience a platform where women come together only to empower each other."

The newly crowned Miss Grand India who says that nothing beats the pride and happiness in the eyes of people around her especially family and friends, during the moment of crowning concludes by talking about the importance of following dreams.

She says, "The cost of not following your heart is spending the rest of your life wishing you had! Step out of your comfort and make a life of your own. Tip toe if you must but take a step. Dream big and be big, there’s nothing less that you should do!"

The homecoming of Shivani Jadhav after winning Miss Grand India 2019 was worth a watch. Not just her family, but her relatives and neighbours also congregated in large number to welcome title winner.

Shivani Jadhav was given the title alongside Suman Rao who was crowned Miss India 2019 and Bihar's Shreya Shanker, who was crowned Miss India United Continents 2019.
