Fans will observe that the age-gap genre typically involves an older female (noona) and a younger male starting a secret relationship that is rejected by society. This drama stars one of the most famous actors from the South Korean industry. Ji Chang-wook plays the role of Choi Dae-hyun and the female lead role is played by the very talented Kim Yoo-jung (who plays Jung Saet-byul). When Choi Dae-hyun hires a young woman as a part-timer to manage his 24/7 convenience store during the night shift, he has no idea what a roller coaster ride he is in for. They have an age gap of 13 years. Though the Saet-byul has a slew of boys falling for her charms, the 22-year-old has her eyes set on the convenience store owner Choi Dae-hyun. When an opportunity presents itself, she immediately applies for a part-time job at Dae-hyun’s shop in hopes of getting closer to him.

Despite the 13 year age difference, Yoon Kyun Sang and Kim Yoo Jung’s adorable chemistry manages to move hearts in Clean with Passion for Now. Diagnosed with mysophobia, CEO Jang Sun-gyeol is an extreme germaphobe obsessed with cleaning. Jang Sun-Gyeol runs a cleaning company through which he meets Gil O-Sol. She has a bright personality and she doesn't mind roughing it up. With the help of her, Jang Sun-Gyeol faces his mysophobia and also falls in love with O-Sol. And for the rest, you’ll just have to watch the whole thing to find out how everything happens.

3. A Witch’s Love

A Witch’s Love’ stars one of South Korea’s most recognized male actors in an age-gap romance. This drama is led by What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim star Park Seo-joon and Uhm Jung-hwa. For this age-gap K-drama, Ban Ji-Yeon (Uhm) is 39-years-old, single, and no longer believes in true love. Yoon Dong-ha (Park) is 25-years-old and runs an errand shop that does it all with his friends. He was once in love until a tragic accident killed his girlfriend. He meets Ji-yeon, and sparks fly. The only problem? Their age difference. Regardless of this, they find a lot in common, especially their broken hearts.

4. Something In The Rain

The K-drama Something in the Rain covers more than an age-gap romance. The two lead characters embark on a journey from being friends to lovers despite their age difference. Jung Hae-in stars as the leading character Seo Joon-hee alongside Crash Landing on You’s Son Ye-jin as Yoon Jin-ah.

Jin-ah is the district supervisor of a coffeehouse franchise and is 35-years-old. She reconnects with her best friend’s brother Joon-hee who is 31-years-old. Something in the Rain shows their taboo romance and their battle of facing public scrutiny. In a secondary storyline, the K-drama also tackles sexual harassment in the workplace (Summer Workplace Outfits), social class disparity, and family dysfunction.

5. Guardian: The Lonely And The Great God

The 2016 K-drama is one of the industry’s most-talked-about romances. But behind the swoon-worthy moments, there is also an age-gap romance. Kim Shin, played by Gong Yoo, was a military general cursed to become immortal.

The only way for him to move on is for his bride to remove his sword. Kim Shin meets Ji Eun-tak, played by Kim Go-eun, a bubbly high school student. Kim Shin looks in his 30s but is hundreds of years old. He lives an immortal life and watches Eun-tak grow into adulthood.
