Step-by-Step Instructions:

  • Spread your curtain flat and decide on the size of your wall hanging. You can use the entire width of the curtain or cut it to a smaller size. For the length, cut the curtain to your desired length, adding about 2-3 inches to the top for the rod pocket.
  • At the top of your cut fabric, fold the edge over about 2 inches to the back. This will create a channel for your dowel rod. Now, sew a straight stitch along the bottom edge of this folded section, leaving an open channel. Alternatively, you can use fabric glue to secure the fold, creating a no-sew pocket.

  • Slide your wooden dowel rod or stick through the channel you just created. Make sure the fabric is evenly spread out on the rod.
  • Take your decorative string or thread and tie one end to each end of the dowel rod. Make a secure knot on both sides, ensuring the string is tight enough to hold the weight of the wall hanging.
  • Your new wall hanging is now ready to be displayed! Hang it on a nail or a hook on your wall to add a unique, handmade touch to your room.
