Bahubali Sets, Swizz Flowers, 200 Helicopters: Gupta Brothers' Auli Wedding Functions Begin

The much talked about, under the radar wedding functions of the Gupta Brothers have begun and we can't keep calm. Yes, there has been a lot of controversy but 'shaadian kisko nahin pasand'? There is so much we expect from them as the unveiling of certain facts is already shouting Grandeur! From the flowers to location to the props it is already being compared to the wedding of Ambanis. In terms of guests, we are expecting a huge attendance of Bollywood celebs from Karan Johar to Katrina. So stay tuned and brush up your knowledge on what all is expected.

The wedding location being Auli in Uttarakhand, there has already been an uproar as the place is ecologically-sensitive. The wedding of Suryakant, son of Ajay Gupta, is scheduled for June 20 and the marriage celebrations of Atul Gupta's son Shashank would be held from June 21 to 22.

The wedding which cannot have more than 150 guests as per reports (only grant from the govt), is approximately worth Rs 200 crore which will be attended by VIPs, including political gurus, spiritual gurus, and Bollywood celebrities, over the next few days. The security is obviously very very tight, starting from Joshimath to Auli in view of the VIP movements.

Do expect immense grandeur as it is already being compared to the recent wedding of Mukesh Ambani's son, Akash Ambani. As per reports, temporary helipads have been constructed which will help ferrying guests to Dehradun airport. They have in fact hired 200 helicopters for the same.

Speaking about the decor, flowers worth Rs 5 crore have been flown in Switzerland and more than over a 100 priests have been called in to officiate the marriage proceedings. The props... remember Bahubali movie? The blockbuster which crossed Rs 500 crore at the box office? Similar looking sets of that film have been constructed across the ski resort. 

The wedding cards dear readers are made of silver and weighed 4 kilograms each.

The Uttarakhand high court on Monday rapped the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state for allowing the embattled Gupta brothers to hold weddings of their sons in the eco-sensitive zone of Auli. The court has also directed the Gupta family to deposit Rs 3 crore as security money, for restoration work in case of environmental damage done.

So, a PIL had been filed in the Uttarakhand high court by Rakshit Joshi, who said that such a lavish wedding would generate a lot of garbage... we are talking tonnes here and cause immense damage to the environment. The PIL also said that the court had, in an earlier order, prohibited night stays in the alpine meadows. But the fact is that the state government allowed the weddings which were in violation of that order.
