Filmfare 2022 Best Actor Kriti Sanon: I’d Forgotten How Heavy And Beautiful It Is

Kriti Sanon bagged the Best Actor award for her 2021 Hindi drama film Mimi along with Ranveer Singh who won the award for his 2021 Hindi biopic 83. “I had forgotten how heavy and how beautiful it is,” said Sanon as she held the Black Lady in her hand.

The winners of the 67thFilmfare awards 2022 were announced on the night of August 30, 2022. In association with the Government of Maharashtra - Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the event took place at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex), Mumbai. The Gunday jodi, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, were the hosts for the star-studded night.

The nominations for the awards were announced on August 18, 2022 and the time frame for the nominations was from January to December 2021. The criteria for the films nominated were similar to last year, owing to the coronavirus pandemic, they had considered all the films that were originally slated for theatrical release but released on OTT.

While Sanon and Singh bagged the Best Actors in a Leading Role, the Best Actors Critics’ Choice was awarded to Vicky Kaushal for Sardar Udham (which also won the Best Film in Critics Choice) and Vidya Balan for Sherni. While both the awards for Best Actors in a Supporting Role were taken by Mimi actors – Sai Tamhankar and Pankaj Tripathi.

For music, Asees Kaur and B Praak won the Best Playback Singer awards for Rataan Lambiyaan and Mann Bharryaa for Shershaah while the film also won the Best Music Album. However, Sardar Udham took home the Best Background Score, Best Cinematography, and Best Screenplay awards from the night. The Best Story award went to Abhishek Kapoor, Supratik Sen, and Tushar Paranjape for the Ayushmann Khurana and Vaani Kapoor starrer Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.
