Nora Fatehi, the Bollywood actor and dancer who recently performed at the FIFA fanfest, is being brutally trolled for holding the national flag allegedly ‘upside down’. She performed at a fanfest of the FIFA World Cup 2022 that is currently taking place in Qatar.
Alleging that the dancer “insulted” the national flag, people trolled her saying, “Tiranga ulta kyun pakda hain (why are you holding the tricolor upside down)”, “Tiranga thik se pakdo (hold the tricolor properly)”, “Indian flag ulta kyun pakra Nora Madam (why have you hold the tricolor uside down Nora madam)’, ‘Ap apna dance dikhane gyi ho to vo karo tringe ka apmaan nhi (you have gone to showcase your dance, don’t insult our national flag).”
There were also fans who lauded her for performing at the FIFA and encouraged her with clapping emojis. Some wrote, “Proud of you Nora Fatehhi” and “loved it.”
Fatehi’s performance of the song Kamariya won hearts across the world at the fanfest event and the massive crowd grooved to her dance moves. Her main performance involved dancing to this year’s Fifa World Cup anthem Light The Sky and O Saki Saki. At the end of her performance she held and waved the Indian tricolour flag on the stage and was heard saying "Jai Hind!! Zor se, Zor Se Jai Hind!"
"India is not a part of the FIFA World Cup but we are now, in spirit. Through our music, through our dance," she added.
Sharing a video from the event on social media, Fatehi wrote, “That moment when u hear ur voice at the world cup stadium @fifaworldcup (face holding back tears and smiling face with red heart eyes emojis),this was so surreal! Its milestones like this that make the journey so worth it (face holding back tears, red heart and handfolded emoji). I always envisioned moments like this, im Just a Dreamer with a hunger to make those dreams come alive! From a regular shmagular girl in the hood to this!”
The FIFA fanfest event was also graced by actor Ranveer Singh.
