Khurrana plays the role of a medical student who wanted to become an orthopedist but is assigned to the gynaecology department instead. However, his low-key misogynist character finds the department more suited for women and tries hard to move to orthopaedics. The story takes us on a  rather cringy ride as Khurrana takes on the role of a reluctant gynae whose apathy to his work eventually risks a woman’s life.

The two and half minute trailer video of the upcoming comedy-drama film Doctor G begins with Khurrana getting beaten up by a man for touching his wife during a check-up session. Later in the video, he goes on cribbing about shifting to ortho and goes around requesting his female collegemates for taking up gynaecology to free up space for him in other departments. He puts up the flimsy argument that he cannot treat organs that he doesn’t possess. While his presumed love interest gives him a reality check saying he cannot even succeed in ortho if he doesn’t have a spine either. The trailer also comically highlights the concept of “male touch” when he begins taking classes and his professor asks him to lose his male touch first in order to be a successful doctor.

The internet is however split between finding this funny and cringe. Doctor G seems to be another one of Khurrana’s films revolving around topical social issues addressed through comedy.

The film stars Rakul Preet Singh as Khurrana’s fellow classmate and his love interest and Shefali Shah as his professor, Dr Nandini, among several others.
