Television Actor Sangita Ghosh Reveals She is a Mother To a 7-Month-Old Baby Girl

Sangita Ghosh, the model and Hindi television actor who is best known for the serials ‘Naagin’ and ‘Divya Drishti’, among others, has revealed that she is a mother to a 7-month-old baby girl named ‘Devi Rathore’.

On Sunday, the actor took to social media to share a few pictures of herself with her husband and the baby from what looked like a puja ceremony. She captioned her Instagram post as “Miliye Humari Duniya Se (meet our world) #Devi Rathore.” She became a mother in December last year.

Further, in an interview with the Times of India, the actor shared why she had not made the announcement earlier and the difficult phase she went through post child birth. She mentioned that it was an “anxious” time for her at the time as her baby was born prematurely. Ghosh’s baby was born on December 25 last year and she was facing issues because of that, she said in the interview. She further mentioned that her baby was in the NICU for around 15 days and they had hidden it from the media at the time and had decided to not talk about it in public until the time was right.

Though Ghosh is in a happy place and is now enjoying maternal bliss, she still finds it difficult to fathom that she has been blessed with a baby, she said. “Sometimes, it feels so surreal that I ask my husband. I recited the Gayatri Mantra when I held her for the first time… she opened her eyes and smiled. I can’t forget that moment,” she said.

Following the baby’s birth, Ghosh reportedly returned to work and had to move to Chandigarh for the shooting of her ongoing television serial Swaran Ghar. Regarding leaving her baby at home for work, Ghosh said, “I was in two minds about taking up the show, but my husband supported me and told me that he was there for the baby. That kind of support and confidence was overwhelming.”

She also mentioned how Devi was with her in Chandigarh for a month and how she misses her when she is away. Speaking about parenthood she said, “The graduation from a woman to a mother makes me feel complete and empowered. My tiny one has me wrapped around her little finger.”

Ghosh got married to entrepreneur and polo player Rajvi Shailender SinghRathore of Jaipur in a private ceremony in 2011.
