No matter how much dusting you do, dirt and grease get accumulated in the corners of the kitchen cabinets. While cooking, we often stain the cabinets with oil, spice and water marks. Soon the cupboards lose shine and start looking dainty.
However, there are quick fixes when it comes to cleaning kitchen cabinets. You do not need to call any service, but do at your convenience using ingredients available at your home. Take a look at homemade solutions to clean kitchen cabinets.
Vinegar And Water
If the cabinets are made of wood, you can use vinegar for cleaning. Mix vinegar and warm water in a 1:1 ratio. Pour the solution in a spray bottle and sprinkle it around the cabinets.
Let it stay there for a while, and wipe it off with a soft cloth. You can also add a few drops of liquid dishwash. This solution will help you get rid of greasy and oily stains that are hard to remove.
Baking Soda
Baking soda alone is enough to help you get rid of stubborn marks. Pour some soda on a wet sponge or an iron wool or steel scrub. Start rubbing it on the areas where the food items have accumulated.
You can also pour a few drops of water and allow the soda to sit for a few minutes. Using a clean wet cloth, remove the residue.
Vinegar And Salt
When we work in the kitchen, we often end up spilling chocolate syrup or sauce. Fluids dripping from bottles make the cabinets dirty and invite pests to feed on. A solution of vinegar and salt in a 1:1 ratio is all you need to get rid of stains.
Once the paste is ready, dip an old toothbrush into it and start scrubbing the areas that need cleaning. Allow the mixture to work its magic for about 20 minutes, and wipe it off with a damp cloth.
Baking Soda And Vegetable Oil
Mix a cup of baking soda with half a cup of vegetable oil. Keep stirring it until you get a thick paste. If it seems runny, add a little more soda to get the appropriate consistency.
Apply this mixture to the handles of the cabinets and allow it to sit for five minutes. You can also apply it on stains, but leave it to work for 10 minutes. Using a clean wet cloth, remove the paste.
