Karan Johar Party

Earlier this year, Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa had accused the several celebrities of "flaunting" their drugged state at a party held at Karan Johar's residence.

However, Karan Johar did not pay any heeds and said “Apparently, you’re not allowed to scratch your nose, you’re not allowed to put your phone in your back pocket, and a shadow of light is perceived to be some kind of powder. My mother lives 10 meters away from that hall. Am I stupid to put out a video if something like this is happening? It was a social gathering where friends were having good conversations and my mother was sitting with us just 10 minutes before this video was taken.”

Vicky Kaushal also came forward and called the accusations "baseless"."What I understand is that people who don't know you personally, see something and make an assumption..that's completely fine. We all do that. But factualising assumptions..It's a big leap to take and that's not fair all the time", Vicky said.

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi

The film might have been a hit but it stirred a lot of controversies. Soon after starting shooting, Director Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, better known as Krish, left the movie and Kangana took credit for co-directing. Later in the interview, Krish lashed out on Kangana Ranaut for undermining him for his work and claiming that she directed 70% of the film.

Also, rightwing Shri Rajput Karni Sena opposed Manikarnika as it shows Queen Laxmibai dancing to a special number, saying it was against tradition. They asked the filmmakers to delete the scene. However, Kangana did not pay any attention and said, "I am a Rajput and I will destroy them."

But soon after that, Karni Sena claimed that some people are using Shri Rajput Karni Sena’s name for vested interests. But they want an apology from Kangana for making such a statement against their organisation. Replying to which, Kangana said, “I will not apologise to anybody. I have never apologised whenever I haven’t made a mistake. We have promised that we haven’t shown anything wrong about Rani Laxmibai in the film so, they should support us. Rani Laxmibai is not my relative and I feel she is the daughter of the entire country so, we all should support the film. Shri Rajput Karni Sena should not play their ego card with me because I am not here to say sorry to anyone.”

Priyanka Chopra's Smoking Controversy

Earlier this year, a picture of Priyanka Chopra enjoying a smoke on a yacht with her family went viral.

Netizens slammed the actress for smoking, as she is an asthma patient and called her "hypocrite" and "fake". However, the actress did not pay any heeds or gave any explanation about it.

Zaria Wasim Quits Bollywood

Zaria Wasim, the Kashmiri girl who starred in Aamir Khan' Bollywood blockbuster Dangal, announced her "disassociation" from the field of acting this year. In a detailed post on her Facebook page, the 18-year-old actress cited religious reasons for her decision to quit Bollywood. "Five years ago I made a decision that changed my life forever. As I stepped my foot in Bollywood, it opened doors of massive popularity for me. I started to become the prime candidate of public attention, I was projected as the gospel of the idea of success and was often identified as a role model for the youth," Wasim said in the lengthy post.

"However, that's never something that I set out to do or become, especially with regards to my ideas of success and failure, which I had just started to explore and understand," she added.

"This field indeed brought a lot of love, support, and applause my way, but what it also did was to lead me to a path of ignorance, as I silently and unconsciously transitioned out of 'imaan' (faith). While I continued to work in an environment that consistently interfered with my 'imaan', my relationship with my religion was threatened," she said.
