Bhediya starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon might have taken a low start at the box office, it has gained pace over the weekend, as per Box Office India. The film released on November 25 and has collected Rs 28 crore nett over the weekend.
On its opening day, the film collected Rs 6.75 crore nett and saw a fair growth on Saturday and collected Rs 9.25 crore. However, as per Box Office India, the growth on Saturday might not be as much Bhediya needed but it comes as a positive news for the film industry that the numbers tend to get better on Saturdays.
The film saw a growth of 25-30% on Sunday and collected around Rs 11 crore nett which is good but lower than expected. After its Sunday collection, the film’s total earnings sum up to around Rs 28 crore nett.

While Bhediya collected Rs 3.05 crore nett overseas on its opening day, Rs 3.20 crore nett on Saturday, and Rs 3.32 crore nett on Sunday. This takes the film’s worldwide collection to Rs 14.82 crore nett and Rs 17.01 crore gross over the weekend.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Bhediya is written by Niren Bhatt and produced by Stree and Roohi producer Dinesh Vijan. Dhawan plays the role of Bhaskar, who is seen turning into a werewolf in the trailer video while Sanon plays the role of a doctor named Anika. The film also features Abhishek Banerjee and Deepak Dobriyal as Dhawan’s friends.
The film might not performing tremendously at the box office, but, it has garnered praises from all over for its VFX and the director has received critical acclaims from fans as well as celebrities from the film industry.

While filmmaker Hansal Mehta wrote, “#Bhediya is an achievement, an experience. I went in as an @amarkaushik fan and emerged out of the cinema hall as a bigger fan. Top class VFX, good storytelling, technically top class and very well acted. This film deserves all the encouragement and success to become a franchise.”
