Bengaluru Women Fighting Over Saree Video Goes Viral

In a video going viral on the internet, two women were seen involved in a fight with each other over a saree in an extremely crowded Mysore silk store. The women were seen pulling each other’s hair during the fistfight until a police officer intervened in between.

Two ladies fought over a saree inside the store, which caused the annual discount sale of Malleshwaram's Mysore silks in Bengaluru to degenerate into a frenzy. As per the video, the two began with an argument which escalated in no time as they began hitting each other physically. The security staff tried to sort the matter but the two customers continued hurling slaps at each other and went on to pull each other's hair. While the other women were busy holding on to their sarees and some were not even bothered to look back at what was happening behind their back.

While another user wrote, “I like the ones who are shopping without even turning their heads to see what's happening, oblivious of the ruckus.”

“In this country, we have people fighting for land, money and saree,” wrote another and one user commented, “They are supposed to carry whistles.”

Another user wrote, “Shows in what great demand their sarees are. This video can be shown as an advertisement” and another compared the scene with bars and pubs. “Same as you can find in bars,” wrote the latter.

Many saree retailers in Malleshwaram give significant discounts on a select few items once a year. During the sale period, huge crowds would be seen at these stores from all across Bengaluru.
