Avatar: The Way of Water, the sequel to the 2009 film Avatar, is breaking all box office records within its first week. The James Cameron directorial has earned around ₹130 crore over a short span of time. It continues to be a film-goer’s favourite pick at the ticket window. What is even more impressive is that it crossed the ₹100 crore mark in just three days, surpassing the lifetime record of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Massive box office collection
Avatar 2 is being deemed the best movie of 2022. It has raked around ₹3600 crore worldwide.
According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the visual treat has had a phenomenal opening week at the box office worldwide.

This is the first film to register such massive numbers on its opening day in the post-pandemic era, beating Bollywood films that were released this year and has become the second highest-grossing Hollywood movie in India. It has managed to cross big box office releases such as Drishyam 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

About the film
Released after 13 years of its first film Avatar, the sequel was much-awaited by all fans. The film stars Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, and Zoe Saldaana in pivotal roles. It showcases the struggles of the Sully family, after the ‘Sky People’ call for revenge over them. Earth is dying, and they (Sky People) need to pacify the hostiles to capture Pandora. Jake and Neytriri try to protect their family anyhow and travel lengths to find a safe home. Their journey through & learning the ways of the water is both captivating and picturesque. The movie is also getting lauded because of its break-through plot and revolutionary VFX and CGI.
