Thank God, starring Ajay Devgn, Siddharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh, and Ram Setu, starring Akshay Kumar and Jacqueline Fernandes, released on Diwali on October 25, 2022. Both films received mixed reactions on the internet.

The beginning of Kumar’s Ram Setu has been lauded with an average middle and end, moslty. After back to back films not doing well at the box office including Samrat Prithviraj, Bachchan Pandey, and Raksha Bandhan, among others, Ram Setu comes as a breath of fresh air for Kumar. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film follows an atheist-archaeologist-turned-believer, who must race against time to prove the true existence of the legendary Ram Setu, also known in English as Adam's Bridge, before evil forces destroy this pillar of India’s heritage.

The official remake of the Norweigian film Sorte Kugler, the Hindi fantasy social comedy revolves around a self-centred egotistical real estate broke played by Malhotra who is in huge debts and meets with an accident. The film unfolds as he gains consciousness and realises he is in heaven when Chitragupta (Devgn) appears in front of him and asks him to play the “Game of Life.”
