Importance Of Ahoi Ashtami

The fast of Ahoi Ashtami is mainly observed by mothers for the happiness and prosperity of their children and for their long life. After observing Nirjala fast for the whole day, they break the fast after worshipping at the night.

On this day, women who wish to have children also observe a fast and by worshipping with the method, Ahoi Mata fulfils all their wishes. On this day, women worship Lord Shankar-Parvati by keeping a fast and the fast is considered complete only after seeing the moon and stars. Ahoi Ashtami Puja Method

• On this day, fasting women should, first of all, take a bath, put on clean clothes and observe a fast.
• Make a picture of Ahoi Mata and her seven sons in the worship room of the house or put a calendar coming.
• In astrology, Ahoi Mata is considered to be the form of Maa Parvati. Light a ghee lamp in front of the picture of the mother.
• After observing Nirjala fast for the whole day, read the fast story and perform the aarti of Ahoi Mata.
• Offer bhog to the mother as desired and burn incense by offering red and yellow flowers.
• After worship, offer Arghya to the moon and stars and pray for the long life of the child.
