Yet another horrific incident from the capital city of Delhi has come to light wherein a young man brutally stabbed a woman many times with a knife after the latter decided to break off the relationship.

The incident took place on the afternoon of January 2, 2023. The injured woman has been admitted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital and her treatment is underway. She has been identified as Simrajit, who is said to be studying BA at Delhi University. As fate would have it, she had befriended Sukkhwinder five years ago which led to this tragic turn of events.
The 22-year-old man was arrested for the crime. It was found that the accused, following the incident, had absconded to Ambala in Haryana from Delhi, said the police. A police team then rushed to Ambala and apprehended him en route on January 3, 2023, while returning to Delhi from Ambala. Further investigation into the matter is underway.

The CCTV Footage
The CCTV footage of this assault has been found. In the video, Sukhwinder can be seen attacking her multiple times. As a result, the girl has received multiple heinous injuries on her neck, stomach, and hands. After the incident, the boy fled from the crime scene. The neighbours in the area heard the commotion and rushed to help Simrajit.

Why did the stabbing happen? Was it rage stemming from rejection?
This unfortunate incident happened when the girl's family did not approve of their relationship and resultantly, she started distancing herself from her lover. Sukhwinder did not take this rejection. And on January 2, he asked the girl to come and meet him since he wanted to know the reason for the break-up. This is when the boy attacked her.
