Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 litre milk
  • 3 tsps lemon juice
  • 200 gms condensed milk
  • 3 green cardamoms
  • Ghee for greasing the pan

Step

  1. Step 1:

    First boil the milk and then add lemon juice to it on a medium flame but keep stirring to have an even curdling.

  2. Step 2:

    Now drain it in a cheese cloth by holding it tightly. Wash the ‘potli’ under running water to get rid of the smell. Then hang it somewhere to drain the water.

  3. Step 3:

    Now fold in the cottage cheese in a blender and add in the condensed milk and the cardamoms.

  4. Step 4:

    Grease a microwave dish with some ghee and make sure that it is not too deep.

  5. Step 5:

    Pour in the mixture and then cook it in the microwave for 3 minutes on high voltage button.

  6. Step 6:

    Once done, open it and give the mixture a good mix and then microwave for another two minutes. The catch is that you keep stirring it after every minute to avoid burning.

  7. Step 7:

    Once done, take it out immediately and set aside. Meanwhile, grease another plate in which you want to set the chhena and then pour in the mixture.

  8. Step 8:

    Let it cool down and then keep it in the fridge for 2-3 hours.

  9. Step 9:

    Cut them in desired shapes with a knife and serve.
