Ingredients

  • 2 cup cooked basmati rice
  • 3 tsp butter
  • 2 tsp cumin / jeera
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 chopped carrots
  • 2 tbsp chopped capsicum
  • 4 tbsp peas
  • 10 chopped beans
  • Salt as per taste
  • 3 finely chopped tomatoes
  • 3 tsp pav bhaji masala
  • 1/2 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 2 boiled and cubed potatoes
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

Step

  1. Step 1:

    Heat the butter and saute the cumin seeds in a kadhai for a few seconds.

  2. Step 2:

    Add the onions and ginger garlic paste and saute.

  3. Step 3:

    Next, add the carrots, peas, capsicum, beans and salt, and cook stir fry them on medium flame.

  4. Step 4:

    After a few minutes, when the vegetables are done, add in the tomatoes and saute till they become mushy.

  5. Step 5:

    Now, add the pav bhaji masala and chilli powder as these two are the main ingredients that give the pulao a distinct flavour.

  6. Step 6:

    Saute it all together until you see the oil being released.

  7. Step 7:

    Add the cubed potatoes now and mix well.

  8. Step 8:

    Once the masala work is done, add in the cooked rice slowly and keep mixing however make sure you do not break the rice grain.

  9. Step 9:

    Garnish with coriander and the lemon juice.

  10. Step 10:

    Serve with cud or raita.
