Kunafa is a sweet made with vermicelli in numerous Arabic countries especially during Ramadan. This sugar – soaked and tasty recipe will surely give you some sweet cravings. If your mouth is already watering, then we have got you covered with this easy Kunafa recipe.

Kunafa is a recipe made with roasted vermicelli. All we have to do is mix this with sugar & dry fruits and add set it out in a dish. Over this, we have to pour a thickened mixture of milk and cornflour. Kunafa is best served after cooling it in refrigerator for some hours and garnishing with pistachios.

Ingredients

  • 350 Grams Vermicelli
  • 4 Tablespoon Sugar For Layering
  • 20 Walnuts
  • 50 Gram Butter
  • 1/2 Liter Milk
  • 7 Teaspoon Corn Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar For Sauce
  • 2 Teaspoon Rose Essence
  • 4 Tablespoon Fresh Cream
  • Grated Cheese As Required
  • 1/2 Cup Coarsely Ground Pistachios

Step

  1. Step 1:

    Break roasted vermicelli into small pieces and roast it with butter in a pan for 4-5 minutes.

  2. Step 2:

    Add sugar and crushed dry fruits. Mix it well and roast for some more time.

  3. Step 3:

    Set out the mixture in a dish and let it cool down for a bit.

  4. Step 4:

    Take some milk in a bowl and add some corn flour to it. Mix it well to not form lumps. Add this mixture to a pan with the remaining milk along with sugar and rose essence. Keep mixing continuously and cook till it thickens.

  5. Step 5:

    After it thickens, switch off the flame and let it cool down but do not stop mixing.

  6. Step 6:

    After it cools down, add cream and mix well. Now pour it over the vermicelli in the dish. Grate some cheese over it.

  7. Step 7:

    After it sets, add the leftover vermicelli over it and press it to let it set. Now, refrigerate it for 2 hours.

  8. Step 8:

    Add pistachios on top to make it look beautiful and more appealing. Kunafa is now ready to be served.
