1. In a mixing bowl, combine Doenjang and Gochujang. These two key ingredients form the base of Ssamjang, providing a rich, savoury flavour with a hint of heat.

2. Add minced garlic and finely chopped green onion to the bowl. These aromatic ingredients impart depth and complexity to the sauce, enhancing its overall flavour profile.

3. Drizzle sesame oil over the mixture for a nutty aroma and rich flavour. Add toasted and crushed sesame seeds for a delightful crunch and earthy undertones. Incorporate sugar to balance the flavours and rice vinegar to add a subtle tanginess. Pour soy sauce into the mixture to enhance the savoury notes and provide a hint of saltiness.

4. Depending on your preference, adjust the consistency of the Ssamjang by adding water gradually. Stir well until the desired thickness is achieved. The sauce should be smooth and spreadable.

5. Taste the Ssamjang and adjust the seasonings according to your preference.

6. Transfer the prepared Ssamjang to a serving bowl. Pair this spicy dipping sauce with grilled meats, or rice dishes to elevate your Korean dining experience.
