3 Ingredients Brownie Recipe

Here is an easy step-by-step guide to baking the perfect three-ingredient chocolaty brownies using these hassle-free steps.

  1. Leave your oven to preheat to 350°Farheneit (176.7° Celsius).
  2. Meanwhile, prepare your baking tray by spreading parchment paper over it, as per the tray’s dimensions. This prevents your brownies from sticking to the tray.
  3. Add 2/5 cups unsweetened cocoa powder and 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar to a large bowl. Mix them well until they are evenly distributed. Prefer mixing it with a whisker for ease.
  4. Add the egg whites to your mixture and whisk it thoroughly until the batter turns smooth and thick. Initially, it may seem like the batter is not liquidy enough, however, stick to the 2 egg-white calculation as adding more can ruin the texture. Once you whisk it in the powder mixture, the consistency will turn out perfectly.
  5. However, if you choose to use 3 egg whites, your brownies will turn out softer and chewy instead of firm.
  6. Pour the thick brownie batter into the baking tray covered with parchment paper. Leave it in the oven to bake for about 25 minutes.
  7. Once done, poke a toothpick into the batter to check if it's cooked. The toothpick should come out clean, wet toothpick is a sign of undercooked and liquidy batter.
  8. You can serve them hot by sprinkling some walnuts and chocolate syrup on top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, after cutting them into small pieces.
  9. You can also leave them to cool before cutting them. Note that once cooled down, they may shrink.
  10. Relish your soft and delicious brownies!
