Ranabaali Box Office Day 1: Vijay And Rashmika's First Film After Marriage Opens To This Much In Advance Booking

Ranabaali has had a steady start at the box office. According to early trade tracking by Sacnilk, the film has earned around Rs 3.07 crore net in India so far on day 1, with the gross collection standing at Rs 3.62 crore. These are mid-day figures, based mainly on afternoon shows of the Telugu version, so the numbers are expected to go up once the evening and night shows are counted.

Before release, the film had collected around Rs 4.33 crore in advance booking for the opening day, with about 2.68 lakh tickets sold. Overall, tickets worth Rs 11.50 crore have been sold for the first six days.

What Is Ranabaali About?

Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali is set during the Madras Famine of 1876-78. The director has said the film is a fictionalised retelling of events from that era, so it is not a strict history lesson but a story built around that time.

Vijay And Rashmika's Third Film Together

Fans have always loved this pair, and they are often called the most loved couple of the Telugu film industry. Ranabaali is their third film together after Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade.

At the pre-release event on Tuesday, Vijay called Rashmika his "favourite co-star." He said she has grown so much as an actor and as a person, and that her willpower is almost robotic. "Seeing your growth makes me feel really proud," he said.

Rashmika's Big Gesture Before Release

Just before the film came out, Rashmika announced that she is adopting 400 families and will cover their grocery expenses for the next year. Talking about her character, she said people often ask whether she and Jayamma are alike. Her answer was yes, and this is one of the ways.
