Vijay Deverakonda Thought 30 Was Too Early For Marriage; Rashmika Mandanna Had A Different Take

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are back in the spotlight, and this time it is for a light-hearted banter on a podcast. While promoting their upcoming film Ranabaali, the couple had a fun exchange about the right age to get married, and Rashmika did not let Vijay get away with his comment.

What Did Rashmika And Vijay Say About Marrying At 30?

The couple appeared on The Prakhar Gupta Xperience to talk about Ranabaali. During the chat, Vijay asked host Prakhar Gupta when he got married. Prakhar said he tied the knot at the age of 30. Vijay quickly reacted, saying, "Oh, that's too young yaar."

Rashmika jumped in right away. She joked that Vijay was the one who was late, and Prakhar was not young at all. Vijay got married at 36, so her quip landed perfectly, and the moment is now going around on social media.

Their Love Story Off The Screen

Vijay and Rashmika got married on February 26, 2026, in an intimate ceremony in Udaipur. The two had been together for around eight years before that, and they kept their relationship away from the public eye. They were first seen together in Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade, and fans have loved their chemistry ever since.

Rashmika And Vijay’s Relationship Timeline

The couple also appeared on The Shubhankar Mishra Podcast, which was released on October 4, 2026. It was their first joint Hindi interview after marriage. Talking about keeping their relationship under wraps for around eight years, Vijay said that he and Rashmika had met as colleagues eight years ago.

They became friends and then fell in love, had been in a relationship, and eventually she had become his wife. He added that there had been no hide-and-seek game and he had not found it necessary to talk about it, as it was his life and he didn't see why he should discuss it with others.

Rashmika added that their relationship was not for entertainment but for them, and whatever they wanted to protect, they did not want to talk about.

The chat had some funny moments too. On cooking, Vijay admitted he does not cook at all, while Rashmika handles the survival cooking, like Maggi, tea, coffee, rice and omelettes. Vijay also had a piece of advice for young people: "Upgrade your life before upgrading your lifestyle."

What Is Ranabaali About And When Is It Releasing?

Ranabaali is their first film together as a married couple. They went straight to the set in March 2026 after the wedding instead of going on a honeymoon. Set in 19th-century South India during the Madras Famine of the 1870s, Ranabaali  is a period action drama that follows the story of a rebellious warrior named Ranabaali, played by Vijay. He fights to protect his people from British exploitation. Rashmika plays Jayamma, his fierce companion. The film is set to release in theatres on October 16, 2026.
