The much-anticipated Kantara Chapter 1 has taken the box office by storm, crossing a major milestone within just two days of its release. The Kannada drama, riding high on massive pre-release buzz, fan anticipation, and a gripping storyline steeped in folklore and mysticism, the film has lived up to and even exceeded expectations.
According to a Sacnilk report, Kantara Chapter 1 collected approximately ₹2.78 Crore in India on its second day (Friday, October 3, 2025). This collection brings the film’s total domestic net earnings to an estimated ₹62.78 crore.
Released across multiple languages and regions, Kantara Chapter 1 opened to packed theatres and roaring crowds. Day 1 collections were already impressive, but Day 2 witnessed an even stronger hold at the box office, especially in key markets like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and parts of North India. Here’s a breakdown of the box office collection:
Day 1 (1st Thursday)= ₹60 crore
Day 2 (1st Friday)= ₹2.78 crore (approx)

The Kannada version of the film had an overall occupancy of 88.13 per cent in theatres on Thursday. The Telugu, Hindi and Tamil dubbed versions of the film registered an occupancy of 75.34 per cent, 29.84 per cent and 71.42 per cent, respectively.
According to IMDb, the movie's gist reads, “Exploring the origins of Kaadubettu Shiva during the Kadamba dynasty era, it delves into the untamed wilderness and forgotten lore surrounding his past.”
The action thriller features Rishab Shetty in the lead role, and Jayaram, Gulshan Devaiah, Leenaz Samad-Bicha and Rukmini Vasanth in supporting roles.
