Shashank Khaitan's directorial, 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari' is finally here in theaters after a lot of wait. Starring Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan, the family rom-com hit screens on October 2, the festival of Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra. But it had a weak opening at the box office. It also got average reviews from critics and movie buffs alike. Let's jump right in to check 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari' box office collection for day 1.
The film had its release date on October 2, 2025. The film raked in an estimated Rs. 9.25 crore on its opening day in India, as per Sacnilk.
The movie is competing hard against a big box office battle against Rishab Shetty's pan-India outing, 'Kantara: Chapter 1'. The movie is a typical Bollywood romantic comedy against the background of a colourful, chaotic, and lavish Indian wedding. The tale revolves around Sunny Sanskari (Varun Dhawan) and Tulsi Kumari (Janhvi Kapoor), two former lovers whose lives cross paths once again.
After Ananya (Sanya Malhotra), the former girlfriend of Sunny, is engaged to Vikram Singh (Rohit Saraf), childhood sweetheart of Tulsi, Sunny and Tulsi create an unlikely partnership. They choose to play the role of a fiery couple who are madly in love in an attempt to make their respective exes envious and, possibly, ruin their impending wedding. What begins as a playful scheme soon turns into an actual, yet complicated, rekindling of love, resulting in a sidesplitting blend of chaos, banter, and family drama.

The movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast that brings the trademark Dharma Productions' glossy look to life:
The supporting actors are performed by talents such as Maniesh Paul and Akshay Oberoi, which add to the drama and comedy aspects of the big-fat Indian wedding environment. The movie is directed and written by Shashank Khaitan, who has already given hits such as 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' and 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania'.

Though the opening figure falls short of the double-digit figure commonly sought by a big-budget Bollywood movie, industry experts indicate the first-day collection as a decent beginning, particularly considering the fierce box office battle.
With good word-of-mouth anticipated for the light-hearted tone of the film and the forthcoming weekend holidays, 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari' should experience a big boost in its box office figures in the next few days.
