Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi’s courtroom drama ‘Haq’ seems to be losing its steam after a fair weekend run. Despite a promising Saturday jump, the film couldn’t maintain steady growth into its fourth day. Directed by Suparn S Varma, ‘Haq’ delves into themes of justice, gender equality, and faith, inspired by the historic Shah Bano case.
The film had generated moderate pre-release buzz thanks to its socially charged premise and strong performances, but it appears that the word of mouth hasn’t translated into ticket sales. After a fair weekend total, the film’s collections dropped sharply on its first Monday.

According to the Sacnilk report, ‘Haq’ managed to collect around ₹0.01 crore on its fourth day (till now, Monday), taking its total India net collection to ₹8.91 crore. The drastic drop in earnings after the weekend suggests that the film may struggle to sustain itself through the week.
While the film’s performances, especially by Yami Gautam Dha, have been appreciated, its slow narrative and limited appeal appear to have limited its box office potential.
As per the data, ‘Haq’ showed significant growth on Day 2, almost doubling its opening day collection. However, Sunday’s numbers plateaued, and Monday’s dip brought the film’s momentum to a halt.

Helmed by Suparn S Varma, ‘Haq’ is inspired by the real-life Shah Bano case of 1985, which sparked nationwide discussions on women’s rights and the Uniform Civil Code. The film follows a 62-year-old Muslim woman’s battle for alimony after divorce, a fight that reshaped India’s legal and moral landscape.
The film stars Yami Gautam Dhar in a compelling lead role, alongside Emraan Hashmi, Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Husain, and Vartika Singh. Despite strong performances and a socially resonant theme, ‘Haq’ is yet to find commercial success, hinting that its second-week collections may dip further unless it sees a surprising mid-week recovery.
