Drishyam 3 Ending Explained

The film Drishyam 3 starts right after the second part of the Drishyam movie. In the prequel, Mohanlal plays Georgekutty, who had authored a book about his life in the past. The new film shows the story of the theatre owner turned producer, who made a movie out of his autobiography; the movie receives huge appreciation but attracts suspicion from all quarters. At the same time, Georgekutty is looking for a groom for his elder daughter, Anju; however, even after several attempts at making an alliance, no good match could be found for her because of his previous problems.

In time, Georgekutty (played by Mohanlal) gets bored with life and keeps asking questions to himself and falls deep into his paranoia. Once during the night, he notices a light of a torch being shone on his premises, and finds someone digging a hole in his courtyard.

As though he is constantly under surveillance by some unseen eyes, Georgekutty becomes even more paranoid, making him fail to understand the reality of what is taking place. With the increasing pressure from both conventional and new media concerning theories about the film, he becomes even more unstable. Before long, it comes to light that the man excavating in the backyard is Sahadevan himself, the constable from the previous film who desperately wished to have Georgekutty captured. Sahadevan, now a drunken individual who has been discharged from the police force, has reasons of his own.

On the contrary, it comes out clearly that Geetha Prabhakaran (Asha Sharath) is depressed and catatonic as she fails to get justice for her son. Seeing the state of Geetha, Prabhakaran (Siddique) is determined to do whatever he can to make her happy. It is also discovered that it was none other than Prabhakaran who is sponsoring Sahadevan in his conspiracies against Georgekutty, and also the one who disrupted all the marriage proposals of Anju. After a series of unsuccessful proposals, at last Anju gets a proposal which turns out to be another ploy hatched by Prabhakaran to lure Anju away from her home so that she can be framed in an assault on her husband for not being attracted to men. However, as always, Georgekutty is one step ahead of everyone. After uncovering the truth behind the conspiracy, he instructs Anju to trust her father.

With another rescue in hand, Georgekutty is finally convinced that the whole thing must stop, and he decides to turn himself over to the police due to his earlier actions. In his last meeting with Prabhakaran, Georgekutty makes sure that he tells Prabhakaran to call it quits for good or else meet the same fate as his son.
