1. Hanuman Ansh

Made on a budget of only Rs 2 crore, Hanuman Ansh is undoubtedly the biggest hit of 2026. The movie earned over Rs 400 crore worldwide and Rs 326 crore in India. At first, the film did not get enough attention but saw an amazing response after a month.

2. Bethlehem Kudumba Unit

Despite starring big names like Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit was made on a comparatively small budget of Rs 25 crore. The movie became a huge hit, earning over Rs 310 crore worldwide. It also became the highest-grossing Malayalam movie of 2026, surpassing Lokah's collection too.  

3. Irumudi

Ravi Teja, who was going through a dull phase with a series of box office failures, surprised everyone with Irumudi. The movie was made on a budget of Rs 35 crore, collecting over Rs 250 crore worldwide. It became one of the biggest Telugu hits of 2026.

4. Maa Inti Bangaram

It is not often that a female lead film receives an amazing reception at the box office, but Maa Inti Bangaram broke all the predictions. From the start, fans were excited to see Samantha on the big screen in an action role. Maa Inti Bangaram crossed Rs 100 crore worldwide after being made on a budget of Rs 20-25 crore.

5. Mandaadi

Mandaadi not only became a commercial success but a critical one too. Starring Soori in the lead role, the movie had good hype, but no one expected it to become a blockbuster. Made on a comparatively higher budget of Rs 75 crore, the movie collected over Rs 150 crore worldwide.

6. DC

Lokesh Kanagaraj is known for some of the biggest actioners in Tamil cinema, but he took a leap of faith into acting with DC. The movie was made on a budget of Rs 25 crore only and collected over Rs 105 crore. It was also well praised by the critics.  

7. Premada Oorali

Premada Oorali became one of the biggest Kannada hits of 2026, earning over Rs 20 crore worldwide despite being made on a small budget of Rs 2-3 crore. It became one of the most profitable Kannada films of 2026 thanks to strong word-of-mouth.

The lesson from 2026 is clear that the content will always remain the king. Audience doesn't care about budget or star power anymore and these films are the biggest examples of that.
