Popular Haryanvi singer, dancer, and former Bigg Boss 11 contestant Sapna Choudhary has shocked her massive fan base by filing a formal police complaint against her husband, Veer Sahu, accusing him of severe domestic violence, physical assault, and mental harassment. Sahu, an established singer, actor, and lyricist within the Haryanvi music industry, married Choudhary in a highly private temple ceremony in January 2020 after a long-term relationship, and the couple shares a young son. The shocking legal development came to light after Choudhary approached the local police station accompanied by her legal counsel, detailing a pattern of alleged marital discord and abusive behaviour that had reportedly been brewing behind closed doors for several months.

Who Is Veer Sahu

Veer Sahu is a well-known Haryanvi singer, actor, writer, and digital content creator who hails from the Hisar district in Haryana, India. Popularly referred to by his fans as the ‘Babbu Maan of Haryana’ due to his distinct rugged styling and intense screen persona, Sahu has established a significant footprint in the North Indian regional entertainment landscape. He transitioned from a quiet rural background into the limelight of the vernacular entertainment industry, building a massive following across rural and semi-urban Haryana, Punjab, and Western Uttar Pradesh. While he was already a recognised figure in his own right, his fame grew exponentially nationwide following his relationship and subsequent marriage to iconic Haryanvi performer and former Bigg Boss 11 contestant Sapna Choudhary in January 2020. The couple, who kept their court marriage highly private for months, share two minor sons.

Veer Sahu Professional Career

Veer Sahu’s professional journey in the Haryanvi music and film industry is characterised by a multi-faceted approach as a lyricist, vocalist, and leading actor. He made his debut in the regional entertainment circuit over a decade ago and steadily carved out a niche with his high-energy, youth-centric Haryanvi music videos and independent tracks. Some of his most notable musical releases include popular tracks like Thaddi Baddi, Shiba Ki Rani, Khalnayak, and Landlord, which garnered millions of views across regional streaming networks and digital platforms. Known for portraying intense, grounded, and rustic characters that deeply resonate with the cultural landscape of Haryana, Sahu expanded his portfolio by acting in regional films and prominent musical dramas. Beyond singing and acting, he is a prominent digital celebrity, frequently engaging in community discussions and regional advocacy before his personal life took a complex legal turn.

Sapna Choudhary Files Domestic Violence Case Against Veer Sahu

The personal lives of the celebrity couple came under intense legal and public scrutiny when Sapna Choudhary officially approached the Dwarka Mahila Court in New Delhi to file a case under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. Represented by her counsel, Advocate Preeti Singh, the popular dancer and actress levelled serious allegations against Sahu, claiming that she faced repeated instances of severe physical assault, mental harassment, and public humiliation at his hands, which ultimately forced her to leave their shared matrimonial home with her two minor children and move to her paternal residence in Najafgarh. Presenting medical reports, injury photographs, and audio recordings of alleged threats as evidence, Choudhary sought urgent legal intervention to protect her personal safety and prevent potential disruptions to her professional commitments, including the high-profile June 2026 premiere of her movie Momacu. Taking immediate note of the prima facie evidence, Judicial Magistrate Nidhi Singh issued a strict interim protection order, legally restraining Veer Sahu from approaching or contacting Choudhary in any manner, and explicitly barring him from entering her residence, workplace, or her film's promotional venues until the next formal hearing scheduled for July 25, 2026.
