
Through a strong commitment to services and values to help women in rural areas, Stella Richard founded Winstar that manufactures feminine hygiene products. She won a special certificate at the HZ Womenpreneur Awards 2023 that was held in Delhi on February 23, 2023.
Richard believes that success can be achieved easily if you have the intention to “Go for it at any cost”.
By honouring women company owners, the HerZindagi Awards recognised the key direct-to-consumer (D2C) sector change-makers who are dedicated to building a more ethical and sustainable business. HerZindagi is committed to recognising female entrepreneurs in ways that go beyond "empowerment" via this project. Its goal is to recognise and support female leaders and achievers who, in the previous year, opened up new opportunities for themselves by being successful and excelling at what they do.

Speaking about starting her company, in an exclusive interview with HerZindagi, Richard said, that she faced a lot of struggles and hindrances from people. “Started my company with lots of struggles” said Richard.
Richard is currently heading a special project “Saaras” which is a collaboration between the Israel Embassy in India and Khushii Foundation that promotes women empowerment, menstrual hygiene and awareness in Arthala, Ghaziabad. “This project deals with all ‘pillars’ for menstrual health and hygiene uplifting: social support, knowledge, skills, facilities, and materials. From the first step of production of the pads till the distribution, the entire process is led by an all women local team from within the community that have been trained by Khushii and our advisor Stella Richard," the Israel Embassy in India said in a statement.
Richard started the company that produces feminine hygiene products especially sanitary napkins with innovative approach and technologies through vending machine to help more girl children during emergency period. Also, the incinerator resolves the used napkins in germ-free method of disposal.

Richard’s strong commitment to service and values helped individuals, schools, colleges, institutions, corporates, and rural areas succeed and earned her the Women Enterpreneurship and Empowerment (WEE) reward. This gold medal winner that she was awarded by IIT New Delhi and Ministruy of Science & Technology in December 2017 took Winstar to its great heights. She added, “Winstar provides quality products with fair prices to female community in India and wishes to expand other countries around the globe.”

Winstar is based in Delhi and Chennai with 25 employees among which 99% are women. The company’s revenue has been ₹95 lakhs in 2021 and ₹45 lakhs in 2022.
