The Election Commission of India has embarked on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 campaign in several states in order to maintain an up-to-date electoral roll that is free of any errors. SIR Last Date 2026 Deadline

The Election Commission of India has laid down specific timelines regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 process. This process consists of the house-to-house enumeration and the form collection timelines that are scheduled up to August 2026 in different states, after which there will be a release of the draft electoral roll. It is recommended for all citizens to fill in their forms in good time to enable inclusion of their names in the electoral rolls.

Documents Required For SIR Registration

For the verification of eligibility during the SIR procedure, the following documents should be produced by the applicant:

• Birth certificate

• Passport

• Class 10/ Matriculation certificate

• Permanent residence certificate

• Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC)

• Identity Card/Pension order of Central / State Governments or PSUs.

Eligibility Criteria For SIR Application

In order to apply or make modifications under the Special Intensive Revision of 2026, an applicant needs to be a citizen of India. The applicant needs to be 18 years or above on the date of qualification as set out by the Election Commission. In addition, the applicant needs to be a regular resident of the constituency from where he/she is making an application and not debarred from voting according to the electoral laws of India.

How To Apply For SIR 2026

Eligible voters can apply for SIR registration either manually through enumeration forms or electronically through the official website. The BLO will distribute partially filled-in Enumeration Forms (EF) to the voters during the door-to-door survey process, and they have to fill, sign and submit the form along with supporting proofs. In case of self-enumeration, the voter has to go to the official website or ECINet application of ECI (voters.eci.gov.in).

Common Mistakes To Avoid During Registration

When filling the SIR enumeration application form, the applicants need to ensure that their personal information, such as names, wrong dates of birth, and no relative mapping reference, is accurate before sending. Another common error that may occur is sending illegible or unsupported copies of the documents, which will attract notices from the Electoral Registration Officer. Duplicate registration is another common error that may be done by the registered voters while applying for different constituencies.

How To Check SIR Application Status

Applicants will be able to easily monitor the status of their SIR filing on their own using the official website of the voter or the official mobile application of ECINet (www.voters.eci.gov.in). Once you enter your unique reference number generated after the submission of the form or the Voter ID (EPIC) details, you will be able to access real-time information about field verification, ERO approval and their listing in the next draft electoral roll.
