While we love to wear long, detailed earrings, we end up torturing our ear lobes. Let’s admit it, most of us tend to buy earrings without actually considering its weight. It doesn’t matter when it comes to small hoops or studs, but heavy ones like dangles or chandeliers can give you extremely hard times, especially to those who have sensitive skin.
Have you ever wondered about a few simple hacks that can help you don your favourite earrings without pain or damage? If yes, seems like your prayers have been answered because here we are with some simple yet effective tips so that you can wear those stunning earrings without causing much pain to your earlobes.
While you cannot cut out the weight of an earring, you can very much give them support by adding a simple metal chain that can help the ear to bear the extra weight. Kan Ser or ear Ser is something you can attach to the existing earrings. A lot of heavy pieces come with it, however, if there is no Ser attached to your earpieces, you can always invest in a versatile chain that is likely to go with most of your earrings.
All you need to do is include the Ser into the pin that goes into your ear piercing, and close the end of the earring. While pinning the other end of the string onto your hair try putting a bit high to actually provide support.
Use Invisible Patch
If you are into drop earrings (celeb-inspired earrings), whose weight is concentrated in just one direction you need to wear it with invisible patches. Not only will you protect your earlobes from stretching, but the amount of pain is likely to reduce. You can buy these invisible tapes that you paste on the back of ears from any online or retail stores.
Just cut a small part, paste it lose to the piercing on the back. It will help alleviate the stress and will distribute the weight of the earrings over a greater portion of the ear.
If you are into wearing heavy earrings every now and then, then a mini tube of numbing cream must always be present in your wallets. This cream numb the skin around the piercing (types of ear piercing), thus making you not feel the weight of the earrings.
Ask your local chemist for an over the counter numbing cream. Apply it a few seconds after wearing the earpiece. And don’t keep on applying it again and again, just once on each ear.
Use Transparent Thread
In case you do not have Ser or earlobe patches, this hack comes handy. Take a transparent thread, fold it twice. The part of the thread that has become loop, pass it through the hook before wearing the earring. Now, passing the thread from above the ear, tie the other end to the back, in the hook of the earring, and put the backing. The idea is to hang the earring while also wearing it.
