Due to the pandemic, the fashion world was also stripped away of its glory as the biggest fashion festival, FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week was being showcased in a hybrid digital model. However, it is back with a bang after two years and we can witness it in its full glory.
As fashion week starts today, we are eager to look at all the collaborations and collections. It is surely going to be a blast.
No More Hybrid Showcases
After suffering for two years in the pandemic, the fashion week is finally back in physical form. Also, the show has been moved from Mumbai to Delhi. This shift has made us even more excited for the show.
The Big Opening
The FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week opening show will be showcased by Rahul Mishra. This will be in collaboration with the Italian Embassy. The collection is inspired by the designer's love for nature. The designs are packed with the essence of our world. Every inch of the design is accentuated with scenic beauty, coloured beads and floral embellishments.
This wonderful collection will be complimented by special accessories from Italian heritage brands. This collaboration is surely going to bring something new for our eyes.
The Big Names
This week-long event is back to celebrate numerous designers and their talent by giving them a grand space to showcase their designs. Some of the names that you should look forward to are Tarun Tahiliani, Shivan & Narresh, Varun Bahl, Pankaj & Nidhi and Shantanu & Nikhil. Also, to make his debut, Suneet Varma will be showcasing his first ready-to-wear collection.

Youth Power
The week-long extravaganza will also help emerging talents showcase their art. There will focus on two designers, Sohan Acharya of Alpona Designs and Shriya Khanna in the INIFD presents GenNext. All eyes will be on Two Point Two by designer Anvita Singh in NEXA presents The Spotlight. Along with this, FDCI x Pearl Academy’s TheFirstCut will funnel the imagination of fashion students and budding designers into its innovative showcase, ‘Dystopia’s Children’.

Ananya Panday: The Glamorous Showstopper
The brand Ambassador of Lakmé, Ananya Panday made an impactful debut at the Grand finale last year. This year she is again ready to stun the audience with her powerful appearance on the ramp at the Grand Finale as a showstopper. She will be seen in Falguni Shane Peacock, the great Indian designer duo. The collection is a look into the future and will surely be something exciting.
