As the year 2021 draws to a close, Pantone, the colour matching company, has announced the shade of the year for the coming year, 2022. However, the most intriguing aspect about the new year's colour is that it is the first time in the 22-year history of Pantone's colour of the year franchise that the Pantone Institute has invented a fresh new hue.

Which Colour Is Pantone Colour Of The Year, 2022?

'Very Peri' has been named Pantone's colour of the year for 2022. The colour is described as a periwinkle shade that mixes the steady tranquility of blue with an energetic infusion of red, according to the company.

About Pantone Colour 'Very Peri'

The company says, the new colour of the year displays 'carefree confidence and a daring curiosity that animates our creative spirit'. It also helps to embrace the altered landscape of possibilities, opening a new vision. The colour illustrates the fusion of modern life and how color trends in the digital world are being manifested in the physical world and vice versa. It displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression.

“The Pantone Color of the Year reflects what is taking place in our global culture, expressing what people are looking for that color can hope to answer.” added Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute. “Creating a new color for the first time in the history of our PANTONE Color of the Year educational color program reflects the global innovation and transformation taking place. As society continues to recognize color as a critical form of communication, and a way to express and affect ideas and emotions and engage and connect, the complexity of this new red violet infused blue hue highlights the expansive possibilities that lay before us”.
