Marian Kwei, a celebrity stylist and Vogue contributor, offered her professional opinion to the BBC, suggesting that the clashing colour palette might have been a deliberate and non-verbal message.

Kwei speculated that the choice was a way for the Trumps to communicate their "modus operandi"—that they would continue to do things their own way, regardless of traditional norms.

Kwei also analysed another one of Melania's outfits from her UK visit: an impossibly wide-brimmed hat that almost concealed her face.

The stylist believed this was another intentional choice, designed to draw attention to her husband and his agenda. The purple colour of the hat, which matched the president's tie, was interpreted as a subtle nod to her support for his visit's goals.

This perspective suggests that Melania's fashion choices during the trip were not just about style, but also served a strategic purpose.
