Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI 2025: Tarun Tahiliani's 'Bejeweled' Collection Dazzles at Grand Finale with Muse Aneet Padda

The Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI grand finale was a stunning artistic showcase, featuring Tarun Tahiliani’s latest collection, 'Bejeweled'.

Tahiliani drew inspiration from jewels, calling them "metaphors for light, transformation and the timeless glamour of our culture." His collection note emphasised that "To be bejeweled in India is to be adorned not only with gems, but with memory, crafts and the textures of the land itself."

The collection opened with black and gold armour-like jackets, kimonos, and jewel-printed bombers, quickly moving to draped dresses, chiffons, and satins in rich jewel tones like emerald, aubergine, amethyst, and ruby. Pearls acted as a constant motif, shimmering as belts, bags, and talismans worn close to the body.

Draping dominated the line, appearing across everything from shoes to sculpted evening gowns, balancing ease with pure sensuality. The show's climax arrived with metallic crushed tissues—in dull gold, rose, and silver—paired with diamonds, both literal and conceptual.

The collection is light, sculptural, and radiant, perfectly capturing Tarun’s vision of 'India Modern': heritage reimagined through Western construction, restraint, and fluidity. "With 'Bejeweled', adornment transforms into identity—the woman is the jewel," the post read.

Taking the final bow, Saiyaara actor Aneet Padda served as Tarun Tahiliani's closing muse. She stunned in a beige sari gown that perfectly encapsulated the collection's balance: a sharply tailored corset contrasted beautifully with a flowing, pre-draped pallu. The actor kept accessories minimal, opting for sleek heels and elegant pearl bracelets, while a loose, wavy hairstyle and nude makeup ensured all eyes remained on the 'Bejeweled' garment itself.
