Exclusive | Siddhartha Bansal's 'World From Above' Collection at LFW 2026 Is About Unity Beyond Borders

Siddhartha Bansal brought a powerful message of oneness to the runway at Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI on 17 October 2026 at Taj Palace, New Delhi, with his new collection titled ‘World From Above’. The collection explored what happens when we shift our perspective on the world and our differences. When viewed up close, the world is full of borders and differences, but from above, it reveals itself as one continuous landscape. It is this thought that forms the core of Bansal’s latest outing.
While speaking to Her Zindagi, Siddhartha Bansal speaks about how he translated the broad yet beautiful concept of 'World From Above' for his collection.
"This topic is what I really believe in. Whenever I start designing, everything comes organically. I've been working on this collection for the past one and a half years, and it wasn't complete initially. But after I decided to do this show at Lakme Fashion Week, I started serious work on the collection, transforming it and pinpointing what exactly I need to show in this 'World From Above' collection."
He added, "My whole idea of this collection is to focus on one particular thing, which is to change the perspective, to believe that we are one. We are divided by borders: somebody living in India or somebody living in Pakistan or somebody living in Iran or Palestine or anywhere in the world; we all are one because we are human first, then we have been divided. There is nothing more to say about this collection but to believe that we are one."

For ‘World From Above’, the designer draws inspiration from two seemingly different worlds: the extraordinary geometry and craftsmanship of India’s Vesara temples and the organic textures of salt lakes, mineral earth, mountains and terrains. Aerial temple plans, carved pillars, ornamental friezes and sacred motifs are reimagined alongside patterns drawn from the earth, allowing the precision of architecture and the irregularity of nature to converge into a unified visual vocabulary.
This collection comes alive through relaxed yet architectural silhouettes, crafted in luxurious fabrics like silk, heavyweight silk organza, handwoven tussar silk and Chanderi. The garments are sculpted using techniques like pleating, hand tucks and intricate pinch tucks, while hand embroidery and extensive hand texturing reinterpret the depth and irregular beauty of stone carvings and natural surfaces.
Staying away from literal representations, Bansal translates the forms, textures and geometries of his references into contemporary fashion, placing craftsmanship at the centre of the conversation.
