There is a famous saying, ‘Old is Gold’. Well! The celebrity brides below took it literally and gave us iconic looks from their wedding ceremonies. They taught us how to mix a part of our heirloom into our couture and look dazzling.

Heirloom is something that is passed on from the previous generation to the next. It is a part of the legacy. Hence, donning a piece of it on one of the biggest days of your life will help you stay connected to your roots.

Let’s see which celebrity brides wore a part of their heirlooms and how.

Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu got married in 2015, and their wedding pictures were gorgeous. However, did you know that the actress wore her mother’s wedding jewellery on her big day?

She donned the jewel-encrusted Sabyasachi Lehenga with rani haar that had green emeralds and the trademark Paasa. Apart from this, she was wearing ivory-gold jewellery pieces as well. Some of these jewellery pieces have been in their family for generations.

Yami Gautam Dhar

Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar married last year at a simple wedding. According to reports, the actress wore her mother’s 33 years old saree on her special day. She was wearing a red silk saree with a red veil with golden borders.

Yami also made it to the headlines for doing her makeup on the wedding day. A big nose ring, a golden maang tika, a long neckpiece and a choker completed her bridal look. She also wore sparkling golden Kalire and traditional chooda. Her fans appreciated the actress for choosing an intimate wedding.

Who can forget the regal wedding of Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal? Isha was wearing Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s lehenga that had 16-panelled ghagra in two shades. She donned Nita Ambani’s saree over her shoulders in double dupatta style.

The Director of Reliance Jio incorporated her mother’s wedding saree into her wedding outfit. She enhanced its beauty by adding Zardozi borders.

Kareena Kapoor Khan

Do you remember the lavish images from Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s wedding? The two undeniably looked royalties. If you Google the images of Sharmila Tagore’s wedding, you would see that Kareena wore the same gharara.

The trend-setter actress upcycled the piece from 1962 and added some embellishments with the help of designer Ritu Kumar. Her vintage style has a sentimental value added to it.
