    These buns are the stuff of dreams if you are on the lookout for a healthy snack. Add to that the fact that they are gooey, freshly steamed and oozing with flavour. So get ready for a session of kneading, waiting, punching, waiting, rolling, waiting again and finally steaming. And what you’ll have at hand are your scrumptious avocado bao buns.     Here’s the recipe for these fun and fluffy healthy goodies that you must try and DIY.avo

    Ingredients To Go:

    • Steamed buns 
    • 1 avocado sliced to perfection
    • 1 lemon for a zesty squeeze of lime
    • Half a shredded cabbage 
    • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
    • 1 pinch of sugar
    • Salt to taste
    • A little bit of wasabi
    • I teaspoon sesame seeds to sprinkle
    • Sriracha sauce to add as dressing

    How To Whip Up This Dish:

    • Get your hands on store-bought steamed buns or DIY them at home.
    • Next marinate the shredded cabbage and a mix of veggies with a splash of rice vinegar and a quick sprinkle of both sugar and salt. Let this marinate mix sit in the fridge to chill for at least half an hour or ideally keep it in overnight.
    • Now slice one avocado and squeeze some lime juice on top along with adding a few pinches of salt to taste.
    • Spread a very tiny bit of wasabi onto the inside of the freshly steamed bun
    • Now stuff it with avocado, cabbage and a mix of veggies. 
    • Add a sprinkle of sesame seeds as topping and serve with sriracha dressing.
