    Arunachal Pradesh is home to the traditional and well-known pickle known as Pika Pila. The Apatani tribe of Arunachal Pradesh prepares it using bamboo shoots, pork fat, and king chillies. Bhut Jolokia is the name of the King Chilli, which is the spiciest chilli found in the northeastern states. People like to consume it with rice, curries, dried seafood, etc.

The outside pot contains water to create steam to cook the rice, while the inner pot is filled with rice that is placed in a pocket of leaves to prevent it from spilling. The cooked rice is then wrapped in leaves and served. In order to give the rice a unique flavour, it is also cooked over charcoal on a bamboo dish.
