Azerbaijan F1 Grand Prix 2026: Visa-On-Arrival For Travellers? Check Eligibility, Dates And More

Formula 1 enthusiasts who are planning to attend the Azerbaijan F1 Grand Prix 2026 have received very happy news. To facilitate international and sports tourism, the Azerbaijan government has officially announced a facility of Visa-On-Arrival, specially for fans, official staff and participants. This high-speed race is scheduled to take place on 26th September, across the acclaimed Baku city circuit. 

To accommodate visitors and give them an opportunity to explore the country, the government has set up a travel window. Eligible travellers can obtain their Visa upon arrival at the airport till 30th September 2026. This opportunity is a bonus for F1 fans as it eliminates the need for visa applications, and makes it flexible for them. 

Eligibility Requirements And Mandatory Documents 

As mentioned above, Visa-On-Arrival will be provided to F1 enthusiasts, but the travellers must complete the basic requirements, for a smooth process. This procedure is restricted to travellers visiting Azerbaijan for the Formula 1 event 2026. Upon arrival at airport immigration control, foreign citizens and stateless persons must present at least one of the following official documents:

• Official Formula 1 Ticket: A valid physical ticket, electronic ticket, or official booking confirmation verifying the purchase of a ticket for the 2026 Formula 1 Grand Prix in Baku.

• FOM or FIA Accreditation: An official accreditation card or credential issued in accordance with the regulatory framework of Formula One Management Limited or the International Automobile Federation (FIA).

• Baku City Circuit Accreditation: An official accreditation card issued directly by the Baku City Circuit Operations Company.

Submitting any one of these required documents will allow the immigration officers to provide Visa-On-Arrival on the spot. 

Foreigners and stateless persons arriving to the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with Formula 1 race to be held in Baku in 2026, will be able to obtain visas on arrival at the international airports of the Republic of Azerbaijan from August 25 till September 30, 2026.

Rules For Non-Ticket Holders 

Travellers wishing to visit Azerbaijan without any intention to attend the Grand Prix 2026, will not be eligible for the Visa-On-Arrival program of the government. General tourists or business travellers must follow the standard visa process of Azerbaijan. 

• ASAN e-Visa System: The primary option for tourists is the official electronic visa portal, known as ASAN Visa. Applicants can submit their details online and typically receive their approved e-visa within three business days. An expedited processing option is also available for urgent travellers.

• Consular Applications: Travellers who do not qualify for the e-visa scheme or require long-term diplomatic, work, or specialised visas must submit formal applications through an Azerbaijani embassy or consulate in their home country.

This special Visa-On-Arrival extends till 30th September 2026, four days after the race concludes. Azerbaijan offers a wide range of tourist spots where you can cover their ancient history, modern architecture and scenic landscapes.
