The 13-year-old Cricketer, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, hailing from a small town in Bihar, has made it to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He was recently signed by the Rajasthan Royals team for Rs 1.10 crore in the IPL auction, grabbing headlines. With this, Viabhav has become the youngest cricket player to enter the IPL, garnering praise from the masses.

In fact, the youngster was also called by Rajasthan Royals for trial in Nagpur ahead of the IPL 2025 auction, where he excelled and paved his way for a bidding war between the Royals and Delhi Capitals during the auction, which eventually earned him a whooping amount.

While talking to PTI, Vaibhav’s father Sanjeev said, “Vikram Rathour sir (batting coach) gave a match situation where he had to score 17 in an over. He smashed three sixes. At trials, he hit eight sixes and four fours!” The left-handed batter is currently in Dubai for the U-19 Asia Cup.

Hailing from Motipur village near Samastipur town in Bihar, Vaibhav was born on March 27, 2011 and made his debut in the cricket world at the age of just 12 years. His father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, who is a farmer by profession noticed his child’s passion for cricket when he was just 4 years old. When he turned 9, his father enrolled him in a cricket academy in the nearby town of Samastipur.

While talking to TOI, Vaibhav said, “After practising for two-and-a-half years there, I gave Under-16 trials for the Vijay Merchant Trophy. I was on standby due to my age. By God's grace, I started coaching under Manish Ojha sir, a former Ranji player. He has taught me a lot and whatever I am today, it is because of him.”

As per reports, Vaibhav’s father sold his farmland to support his son’s dreams. Sanjeev described the financial struggles while talking to PTI. “Not just investment, it's a big investment. Aapko kya bataye humne toh apna zameen tak bech diya. Abhi bhi halat pura sudhra nahi (I have sold my land. Financial issues are still there).”
