“Main bhi utna hi jaanta hoon jitna media mein maine padha hai (l only know what I’ve read in the news), all I can say is, aaj kal ke bachche consent nahin lete maa-baap ke, sirf inform karte hain (Nowadays, children don’t seek permission; they simply inform their parents). We are waiting to be informed,” he said.

Now, comedian Sunil Pal has added fuel to the fire with a video slamming Sonakshi Sinha for apparently not inviting her own father. In a video message, he lamented, "Unhone zindagi bhar 'aaj mere yaar ki shaadi hai' gaana gaya hai. But he wasn't even aware of his own daughter's wedding. Sona, tumse yeh ummeed nahin thi (I hadn't expected this from you, Sonakshi)."

According to a report by Times Now, Shatrughan Sinha's initial response, where he expressed unawareness of the news and commented on contemporary children's independence in life choices, added to the confusion.

Shatrughan also expressed that once Sonakshi shares her marriage plans with him and his wife Poonam, they will happily bless the couple. "We extend our heartfelt wishes for her eternal happiness," he remarked.

However, in a recent statement to Bombay Times, Shatrughan Sinha neither confirmed nor denied the reports, maintaining an enigmatic stance. Nonetheless, he had previously expressed, “Sonakshi has the right to choose her companion, and I will be the happiest father on her wedding day.”
