Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s new ad is all about cheering women to rise up when the world tries to pull them down. She says that society has several problems with women, but despite that, we have to shatter the stereotypes.

Society has several expectations from women, and in her collaboration with Pepsi, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is asking us to shatter the stereotypes and live our life on our terms. Ahead of her birthday on April 28th, Samantha’s new ad has gone viral.

‘Rise Up Baby’

The ad starts with Samantha’s voice in the background saying, “Duniya ko na ladkio se badi problem hai (The world has many issues with women).” At the same time, an elderly woman says a girl should get married on time.

To this, the actor responds by saying, “Time se nahi, marzi se honi chahiye (Marriage must not be time-bound but must depend on the wish of a woman).”

In another scene, a watchman asked her what kind of a good woman works till 12.00 am midnight. Samantha replied that sometimes work extends post-midnight too.

In the last scene, a man says that it is a hero who does the action. Samantha reverts saying that she was the hero of that film and was spotted in action.

The actor asked if women would listen to everyone around them, when will they do what they dream and wish for? She adds, “Duniya to neeche kheechegi he (world will pull you down), but you have got to Rise Up Baby.”

Samantha’s new ad points out if women want the world to change, they have to change their approach, shatter stereotypes and break glass ceilings. For aeons, the world has created barriers around women and told them what they can and can’t do.

However, the scenario is changing gradually. More and more women are making choices that society does not deem fit according to their gender roles. There has been an increase in the number of women entrepreneurs in the past few years, and there are no fields in which women are not making their mark.

Social Media Reactions

A Twitter user shared photos of the actor from the ad, and wrote, “Samantha absolutely slays in the latest pepsi ad. Smart, sexy and totally owning it.”

Another user called her, “Angel in silver.”

People on Instagram have been congratulating the actor and calling her brave.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu Hits Back At Trolls

Last year, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was trolled for wearing a green gown featuring spaghetti straps and a plunging neckline. She wrote, “Now that we are in the year 2022, can we finally stop judging a woman based on the hemlines and necklines she adorns and focus instead on bettering ourselves?”

She also added that being a woman she had first-hand knowledge of what it was like to be judged. Society judges women based on what they wear, education, race, social standing, skin tone and appearance among other things. People make snap judgements on what a woman is wearing because they find it to be the easiest thing to do.

She advised trollers to keep their judgements to themselves as it would not benefit them in any way. “Let’s gently rewrite the way we measure and understand a person!”
