Rekha's Biographer Rebuffs Rumours Of Actor In A Live-In Relationship With Her Manager

For a few days, ‘Rekha: The Untold Story’ has been creating a lot of buzz on the internet. A couple of days ago, rumours were rife about the legendary actor in a live-in relationship with her manager. Published in 2016, you must be wondering why suddenly the book has become the talk of the town.

With Rekha gracing the cover of Vogue, several reports started surfacing claiming that the book revealed this detail about the much-hyped love life of the actor. However, recently the author, Yasser Usman, issued clarifications.

Usman issued a statement calling these claims ‘complete fabrication’. He added that the book was misinterpreted and falsified to create sensations.

The statement read, “I vehemently assert that the quotes mentioned in the media articles are entirely absent from my book. Furthermore, throughout the entire manuscript, the phrases ‘live-in relationship’ or ‘hermetic existence’ or ‘the biography claiming the relationship is sexual’ have never been used.

He added that the intention of these ‘incorrect quotes’ was ‘poor clickbait journalism’. He added that they keep surfacing after every few years.

He said that if such statements that are either attributed to him or his book ‘Rekha: The Untold Story’ were not rectified, he would not hesitate before pursuing legal actions against the responsible publishers.

Interview Of Rekha Confessing Her Love For Amitabh Bachchan Going Viral

With the biographer’s statement, another old video of Rekha confessing her love for Amitabh Bachchan on Simi Garewal’s ‘Rendezvous’ in 2004 is going viral on social media.

Though she never named him in that clip, it shows that Garewal asked her about falling in love with Amitabh Bachchan. She replied, “Absolutely.”

She added that she was yet to find a single man, woman, or child who can help but fall completely in love with him. “So why should I be singled out?”

Speaking as Big B’s ardent fan, Rekha said, “There was never a personal connection with him, that’s the truth. Never ever. There was no truth to the controversies and speculations.”

Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha last shared the screen in 1981 in ‘Silsila’. This controversy was the tabloid’s favourite gossip. It often keeps coming up when people compare Rekha and Jaya Bachchan.

Rekha’s love life and marriages have always made headlines and earned tabloid journalism loads of money. Not far from this were people who went after her making snide remarks and calling her a ‘witch’.

In an old interview in 1976, actor Nargis Dutt was quoted saying, “She (Rekha) used to give such signals to men that she could be easily available. In the eyes of some people, she is nothing less than a witch.”

She even added that on some levels she understood her and claimed that Rekha had a psychological problem. “She is a lost person. She needs a strong man.”

However, Zeenat Aman recently shared an old image of her with Rekha calling her a “Dear Friend”. Her caption read, “Years will go by without us exchanging a word, then we’ll bump into each other on a flight or at the nursery and spend a few hours sharing uninhibited life updates. Anyone else have a friend like that?”
