Who is Manika Vishwakarma?

Born in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, and currently living in Delhi, Manika is in the final year of her degree in political science and economics. She had earlier won the title of Miss Universe Rajasthan 2024, making her a familiar face on the pageant stage.

Beyond academics, Manika has a diverse set of achievements. She is trained in classical dance, is a skilled painter, and has represented India at the BIMSTEC Sewocon, an event organised by the Ministry of External Affairs. She has also been recognised by the JJ School of Arts and the Lalit Kala Academy for her artistic contributions.

In addition to her creative and intellectual pursuits, Manika is passionate about advocacy. She founded Neuronova, a digital initiative that promotes new ways of discussing neurodivergence. Her project stresses the importance of viewing conditions such as ADHD as unique cognitive strengths rather than medical pathologies. While her exact birthdate is not available, reports suggest she is around 22 or 23 years old in 2025.

The Winning Question and Answer

During the finale, Manika was asked, “If you had to choose between advocating for women's education or immediate economic aid for impoverished families, which one would you prioritise and why? How would you address the counterarguments?”

She responded, “Two sides of the coin. On one side, we have seen that women have been deprived of basic rights, such as education, for as long as we can remember. On the other side, we see the result of this deprivation: impoverished families. Fifty per cent of our population has been denied the basic amenity that could change their lives. If I have to, I would choose the option of women's education.”

Defending her choice, she added, “I would advocate for it because it would not just change the life of one person; it would change the entire strata of the future of this country, of this world. While both issues are important, it is about taking actions that can help in the long run.”

Her thoughtful answer won the audience and jury, sealing her victory.

With the Miss Universe India 2025 crown on her head, Manika now prepares to represent India at the Miss Universe pageant later this year in Thailand. Carrying the hopes of millions, she steps onto the global stage as a symbol of ambition, advocacy, and artistry.
