The Body Shop Passionfruit Range Review: Cooling Summer Skincare You’ll Love

If you’re looking for a skincare routine that feels light, cooling, and very refreshing, The Body Shop’s Refreshing Passionfruit range ticks all the boxes.

In India, where most of the country experiences harsh, sultry summers, this range can be the saviour.

The range comes with three products: a body scrub, a refreshing shower gel, and lightweight body yogurt, all of which has a trademark tropical passionfruit fragrance.

The trio is perfect for the sweltering summer months, having been designed to leave your skin smooth, hydrated, and instantly revived. I tried them together, and here’s why they make the ultimate summer combo.

The Body Shop Passionfruit Range Review: What Works

Refreshing Passionfruit Body Scrub

The scrub is enriched with passionfruit oil, and even bits of what looks like passionfruit seeds. The exfoliator scrubs away dead cells and makes my skin feel immediately softer and smoother.

One noticeable bit was the instant cooling sensation after scrubbing, which felt very refreshing after a hot day spent outdoors.

One can use the shower gel after this, but my skin felt clean and scrubbed even without a shower gel.

If you have sensitive skin or skin that is already irritated due to sunburns or any other concern, it's best to do a patch test before using the body scrub on the entire body. While the cooling felt lovely to me, I am not aware how it would react to sensitive or irritated skin.

Passionfruit Shower Gel

I’ve been a fan of many of The Body Shop’s shower gels, and have previously used the Argan Oil, Moringa and British Rose versions; and I may have a new favourite scent.

The shower gel gently cleanses without leaving your skin feeling too dry afterwards.

While retaining all the goodness of the general range of shower gels, the brand takes it a notch higher with this one, with it’s fruity tropical scent.

Body Yogurt Refreshing Passionfruit

The lightweight gel-cream texture was the highlight for me in this Body Yogurt. I prefer thicker ones in the winter, and almost entirely avoid body yoghurts in the summer, but this one stands out for being absorbed super easily. They claim that the moisture lasts 48 hours, but if you have very dry skin, you may need to reapply.

Enriched with menthol, it gives a cooling effect, which is lovely after a scrub or coming out of a hot shower. It doesn’t feel sticky at all, making it most suited for summer.

When all three are used together, the scent lingers in a non-oppressive way. Overall, this is a very solid summer body care trio.
