5 Skin Care Tips For Bride To Tackle Acne And Scars
Here are the skincare tips for the bride:
Never Pop Your Acne
Dr Varsha Reddy warns you to never pop your acne. This act can push bacteria deeper into your skin, delaying healing and potentially worsening the breakout. Furthermore, it also leads to a long-term scar. She advises to visit a dermatologist to get properly diagnosed. They may prescribe oral antibiotics and topical ointments to address the acne effectively.
Opt For Chemical Exfoliation
Acne breakouts are a sign of unhealthy skin but treatments are available to deal with those. Dr Varsha Reddy suggests opting for chemical exfoliation. You can use BHAs like salicylic acid or glycolic acid to exfoliate your skin. These ingredients penetrate the dermis, remove dead skin cells, and help clear your skin, reducing the appearance of acne.
Cortisone Treatment For Larger Acne
If you have large or inflamed acne, you can see your dermatologist for a cortisone injection. This anti-inflammatory steroid injection can flatten the acne within hours, ensuring it’s not visible on your D-day. The treatments for acne scars should begin six months before your wedding for the best results.

Furthermore, Dr Reddy recommends microneedling as one of the best treatments for acne scarring. Microneedling with radiofrequency (MNRF), Morpheus 8, GFC (Growth Factor Concentrate), and laser toning are ideal when planned six months in advance to allow sufficient downtime and healing. Additionally, Hydrocolloid Bandages (Acne Patches) also work as a treatment to deal with acne. It acts as a vacuum to suck out oil and bacteria, flattening acne within a week.
