monsoon skincare tips

The monsoon season has already entered India. However, when the weather changes, so do the needs and behaviours of the skin. To ensure that your skin survives the monsoon without suffering any harm, a few alterations must be made to your skincare regimen.

Deep pore cleaning is necessary in humid environments to maintain the skin clear of blocked oil and grime. Use a scrub to deep clean the skin after bathing or cleaning it. Use circular motions to gently apply scrubs onto your skin. After that, thoroughly rinse with cold water.

Therefore, as a skin and beauty expert, I often advise people to be more careful with their skincare routine during the monsoon season. Take a look at these easy skin care tips and homemade DIY for all skin types that help you this monsoon season:

Home Facial Scrub

Facial Scrub

You can make a facial scrub at home. Combine a little rose water with rice flour for oily skin. And the ground almonds combined with curd is good for normal to dry skin. Gently massage the skin. After that, rinse with water. Scrubs help with removing and preventing blackheads.

Toning and Refreshing the Skin

To cleanse and rejuvenate the skin in humid weather conditions, a good skin tonic is essential. It needs to be a thin lotion. The ideal is a skin tonic made of flowers based skin tonic that contains rose or lavender. It not only revitalises the skin but also gives off a clean, fresh vibe. Also, it helps in pore tightening and increases blood flow to the skin's surface.

Rose Water

Rose Water

One of the greatest skin toners is rose water. Also, it cools and revives the skin. Use cotton wool to cleanse the skin with rose water after cleaning. During the monsoons, wipe the skin several times a day with rose water or a cold skin tonic.

Rosewater and Witch-hazel Skin Tonic

Make your skin tonic at home with witch hazel and rosewater. Witch hazel should be available at a pharmacy. This mixture provides an antibacterial effect in addition to toning the skin. Also, it is said to tighten skin and lessen puffiness. Here are some methods that you can try at home according to your skin type:

For normal skin: Mix ¾ cup rosewater with ¼ cup witch-hazel.

For very oily skin: Mix the rosewater and witch hazel in equal quantities.

For very dry skin: Mix ¾ cup rosewater, ¼ cup witch-hazel, and half teaspoon of pure glycerin

Skin Toner for Normal Skin: Add one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to cold water. Apply with cotton wool pads.

For all skin types: Grated apple applied on the skin helps to tone all skin types.

For oily skin: Mix cucumber juice with rose water and apply on the face, washing off after 15-20 minutes.
