Quoting Shahnaz Husain,”With age, there are changes in the skin. For instance, the skin becomes gradually dry with age and starts acquiring tiny lines and wrinkles. The jaw line gets a heavier look, the skin loses firmness and the complexion appears. In some cases, the colour tone becomes uneven, with darker spots or patches.”

She says, “Makeup on mature skin can be tricky. With these right techniques one can achieve an enhancement of the natural features without looking made up.

• Skin prep is the key. Always start with a moisturised and well hydrated base. Don’t skip on primer.
• Opt for more liquid textured concealers and foundations of thin consistency. Apply very thin layers of these products so that the make up does not settle into fine lines and wrinkles.
• Don’t opt for glitters on the eyes. This will bring attention to the creases on the eyelid. Opt for more definition of the eyes by using liner and enhancing the lashes.
• Brows can be a game changer on a mature face. Use a microfine brow pencil to create thin flicks that mimic the look of natural brow hair. Give a soft defined arch for a quick face lift.
• Lip definition often softens with age with slight drooping around the corners. Hence, use a hydrating lip liner to define the shape of the lips and then go in with the lipstick of your choice.”
